World Book Day
In Nursery we dressed up as our favourite book characters for World Book Day. We shared some of our favourite stories and the grown-ups read their favourite stories too!
We planted some bulbs in our Nursery garden and the allotments. We planted daffodil, tulip, crocus and hyacinth bulbs. Now we will have to wait until spring time to watch them grow.
We made bread; we sieved the flour, mixed in the water, kneaded the dough and then ate the bread. It was delicious!
We also tasted other types of bread such as: naan bread, chapatti, fruit loaf, croissant, pitta bread and brioche rolls.
We celebrated autumn by participating with some autumn activities.
We made a scarecrow to stop the birds from eating the seeds we planted. Then we looked at, touched, smelt and tasted different types of fruit and vegetables. We also carefully coloured autumn pictures to display on our Autumn Wall.
We went on an autumn walk; we saw the trees with their leaves of yellow, orange and brown.
We walked through the leaves they made crunching and rustling noises.
The children collected conkers, acorns, autumn leaves, pine cones and bark to put on our investigation table.
